Harold is the laughing stock of the college. A surprise victory at the football match will allow him to improve his reputation….
Together with Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd was one of the leading stars of silent movies in the USA, and his comedies were huge popular successes. His famous character with his hornrimmed spectacles, optimistic and clumsy, personified the average American and reflected the aspirations of an entire society.
Two years ago we revelled in his slapstick and sentimental adventures in Safety Last, where he climbs up the façade of a building. In The Freshman gags, feats of daring, stunts and hair-raising dangers come at dizzying speed, in a delightfully anti-conformist scenario.
Waves of irresistible gags, a great film and music to bring pleasure to people of all ages.
“Harold Lloyd was one of the most charismatic pioneers of comedy, an excellent actor and accomplished director. His films must be seen, not only for their historic value, but above all for pure pleasure.” Jack Lemmon
