Described by the Los Angeles Times as an extraordinarily polyvalent ensemble, Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra is made up of fifteen great jazz soloists under the direction of the world-famous trumpeter Wynton Marsalis. For the past few years Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra has collaborated with several major symphony orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, National Orchestra of Russia, Berliner Philharmoniker, Boston, Chicago and London Symphony Orchestras, and Orquestra Experimental de São Paulo, in Brazil. Drawing from a vast repertoire which includes original works by Marsalis, Ted Nash and other members of the ensemble as well as classics of major composers such as Ellington, Mingus and Coltrane, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra concerts directed by Wynton Marsalis receive consistently rave reviews in the international press.
