Salif Keïta returns with an exceptional acoustic show, accompanied by two female singers, a guitarist, an n’goni and a kora. A unique opportunity to (re)discover the “Golden Voice of Africa” laid bare, in a setting of strings and voices. Salif Keïta rose to fame in Abidjan, capital of Ivory Coast, thanks to the song Mandjou, his first pan-African hit, released in 1978. Just like his vocal role model, the great Guinean griot Sory Kandia Kouyaté, he combines the beauty, vocabulary and praises of the griots.

In 1987 the world discovered his vocal talent with the album Soro, fusion of African music and Western variety, a recording which marked the birth of world music. His artistic convictions are universal, far from the servile praises when he started out. For his new tour Salif Keïta has chosen a free programme, away from the recording scene, featuring his early repertoire (Les Ambassadeurs) as well as more recent albums, not forgetting of course his big hits like Mandjou!

A co-production with the festival Jazz à Vienne and in partnership with the festival À Vaulx Jazz.
