This is the second season of collaboration between the Orchestre national de Lyon and Ben Glassberg, who won the Concours international de Besançon 2017 (in which he conducted the ONL) and is the new Music Director of the Opéra de Rouen Normandie.

Listening to Sir András Schiff is like diving into the depths. Depths of poetry, introspection, beauty, intelligence and silence. This English pianist of Hungarian descent is worshipped around the world, but seldom seen in France. We are tremendously lucky to receive him for four concerts during the 2020/2021 season.

This is the second season of collaboration with the Australian Brett Dean and his vibrantly colourful scores, imbibed with deep humanity. Two new works are on the programme: a concerto for piano, Gneixendorf Music, and a cantata, In This Brief Moment.

The Auditorium-Orchestre national de Lyon is actively involved in the artistic life of Lyon and its region and, over three years, has forged deeper ties with the baroque ensemble Les Nouveaux Caractères, co-founded and conducted by Sébastien d’Hérin.

Built for the 1878 World Fair and the Trocadéro concert hall in Paris, this monumental instrument (82 stops and 6,500 pipes) was the “showpiece” of the most renowned organ builder of the time, Aristide Cavaillé-Coll.
